New Year Wishes for 2026

 

As we begin 2026, I would first like to extend my warmest wishes to you. May this new year bring clarity, courage, and freedom in your choices, your projects, and in the way you choose to exist in the world.

The GYNY Journal opens this first chapter of the year with a simple intention: to take the time to see ourselves differently and to build meaningful foundations for what lies ahead.

If you are reading these words, it means you have joined the GYN 1957 universe, and for that, I would like to sincerely thank you.

Your curiosity and support make it possible to create a fashion brand driven by purpose—one that respects bodies, identities, and individual journeys.

The Relationship with Image: The Starting Point of GYN 1957

From the very beginning, GYN 1957 was built around a simple yet essential idea: clothing should never force the body to adapt—it should adapt to the body.

This philosophy inspired our adjustable garments, designed to move away from rigid and often exclusionary standards, and to better reflect the true diversity of bodies and silhouettes.

But beyond the garment itself, there is also the question of perspective.

The way we see ourselves, and the way we choose—or refuse—to let others see us.

Inclusive Femininity: A Feeling Before a Gender

 

At GYN 1957, femininity is not defined by gender.

We see it as a feeling, an inner energy, a sensitive and personal way of inhabiting both our bodies and the world around us.

Inclusive femininity is neither opposed to masculinity nor limited by it.

It emerges from the balance of feminine and masculine energies that exist within each of us, regardless of labels or categories.

To democratize femininity is to set it free.

It means moving beyond fixed codes, aesthetic expectations, and limited representations, transforming it into a space of expression accessible to everyone.

At GYN 1957, this vision takes shape through adjustable garments, fluid silhouettes, and personalized guidance that encourages each individual to explore their image—not to conform, but to recognize themselves.

Evolving Without Betraying Yourself

Some public figures embody the ability to transform themselves without carrying their past as a burden.

Zendaya is a powerful example.

First introduced to the public through Disney at a young age, she could easily have remained trapped in a fixed image that was difficult to evolve beyond.

Instead, she turned that early exposure into a foundation, gradually shaping her identity as an actress and public figure without rejecting the young girl she once was.

Through her artistic and stylistic choices, she demonstrates that growth does not require erasing previous versions of ourselves.

Understanding our environment, observing how we are perceived, and thoughtfully adjusting our image accordingly is often how freedom—and comfort within change—begins.

 

Confidence Does Not Come from Clothing Alone

Sometimes we encounter people whose presence is impossible to ignore.

More often than not, that presence goes far beyond what they are wearing.

It comes from introspection, from gradually letting go of rigid expectations, and from choosing to exist for oneself before seeking approval from others.

The body is never the problem.

If a garment does not fit, then it is the garment that should be reconsidered—not the body.

Guiding Rather Than 

 

This vision is what led GYN 1957 to develop image consulting and personal styling services.

A Word from the Founder

Behind GYN 1957, there is also me  — Giannina.

I am naturally introverted. For a long time, words were not my most natural form of expression.

So I learned to communicate differently: through image, style, silhouettes, and details.

Playing with my appearance became my first language.

It helped me build confidence, learn to take up space, and become a self-assured woman—not because I no longer felt fear, but because I stopped allowing fear to make decisions for me.

GYN 1957 was born from that journey.

Every garment and every consultation is designed as a tool for self-expression, for those who are building confidence one step at a time.
